Rules:
RulesBase uses Natural Language formulas (called "Rules") that are easy to read, write, understand and reuse.
An example of a rule might be "Gross Profit = Sales - CostOfSales".
Rules contain all of the data and logic for an analysis.
Rules can contain values, series of values, formulas, or links to other spreadsheets or databases.
Multiple Rules Files can be combined into a given analysis, and reused from one model to the next, allowing multiple users to subdivide projects.
Formatting grids are template and style based. Therefore, once the template is set up, assigning formats is fast.

Grids:
Grids are the spreadsheet layout tool in RulesBase.
They can be automatically created from the data, or the user can have complete manual control over column settings, styles, etc.
Grids don't store data the grid is populated with the results of the Rules.
Grids can also be reused from model to model and user to user.
Links between formulas are variable-based rather than cell-based.

Variables can be dragged from the variable list and dropped onto Rules or Grids. |
